Vintage Morito Planet

$295.00
Unavailable

Thirty-three years ago, Josh was commissioned to make Planet paperweights for longtime collector Yuko Morito, an inventor who later created the “Josh Simpson Sphere Museum” in Kanazawa, Japan. Each New Mexico orb is similar - for example, with the same style of spaceship - but different from all the others. As he always does, Josh made more than were needed for the commission, just to be sure enough of them came out well. This orb is from the collection that stayed here at the studio… until now!

2.75” diameter, signed “Simpson 1990.” (Item #0.25.90)

Comes in a vintage polished mahogany box (5”x5”x3.5”) with brass clasp.

To prevent your Planet from spinning out of orbit, a stand may be purchased here.
