Gravity Wave Spacetime Disk
Josh is fascinated and inspired by astrophysical concepts such as gravitational waves, dark matter, black holes, and the mystery of the physics of light. In Spacetime Stellar Disks he explores ways to interpret and represent these deep space energetic phenomena... in glass.
This “Gravity Wave” Disk evokes the idea that gravitational waves are 'ripples' in space-time caused by the most violent and energetic event in the universe, the combining of two black holes. Made of Corona glass with an overlay mosaic of fine white cane and a delicate red lip wrap.
18” diameter
The polished center of this platter’s back is serialized 2.16.16 and signed Simpson.
